Chelmsford Saves inaugural event

This week marked the first public events for Chelmsford Saves, the new program encouraging residents to take advantage of the free products and discounts available through Mass Save. Monday night I had the opportunity to discuss the program with our Board of Selectmen. We talked about the benefits to residents, many living in homes that were built decades ago and are great candidates for the types of energy efficiency improvements offered. The Selectmen were optimistic that homeowners and renters will respond to the saving opportunities available in this program sponsored by National Grid.

Thursday afternoon Town Manager Paul Cohen invited Fred Schlicher and I to attend his TM Roundtable television show to discuss the program. Fred works for Next Step Living, our partner bringing years of expertise to the program. You can catch the video at the Chelmsford TeleMedia website or at this link. Fred explained the basics of a home energy assessment and what to expect. Thursday evening I accompanied Fred to our first of what will be monthly workshops at the Main Library. These talks are designed to provide more details on specific services such as air sealing or insulation, and provide an opportunity for residents to ask questions of the experts. You do not have to attend the workshops to participate: arranging your free assessment is as easy as calling Mass Save at 855-891-9899 and mentioning "Chelmsford Saves". We hope to have video of this and future workshops courtesy of CTM, for those who can't attend. Please check Facebook or follow us on Twitter for the dates of future events.
